Dr Lidia Guzy's two guest lectures on February 14-15, 2019
Dr Lidia Guzy (University College Cork, Ireland) will deliver a guest lecture "Sustainable documentation and the ethnographer's involvement as empowerment: examples from western Odisha, India" on Thursday, February 14 at 16.15 pm at the Department of Estonian and Comparative Folklore (Ülikooli 16-212). The lecture will introduce into the role of the ethnographer in the ethnographic field based on long-term anthropological and ethno-musicological fieldwork in Western Odisha, India.
And she will deliver also a second lecture "Landscape as resistance – The Gandamardhan Mountains of the Bora Sambar Region, India". The lecture will discuss the concept of sacralised landscape as a regional power of resistance based on long-term fieldwork in Western Odisha, India. The lecture will take place on Friday, February 15 at 12.15 at the Department of Estonian and Comparative Folklore (Ülikooli 16-214).
